Christopher W. Parks…

First and foremost I am a follower of Jesus Christ.  I am also blessed to be a Father, Son, “Pop,” and the proud best friend to Golden Pete the Super Retriever.

I am blessed to be married to the most wonderful woman in the world, Amy J. Parks. She makes everyday a better day. I have two wonderful daughters, Kirbi and McKenna… and a little slugger of a grandson, Cash. Amy and I live in just south of Chattanooga, TN in the little town of Rocky Face, GA at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains… just up the street from my parents.

My wife and I have a heart for facilitating Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University classes and are trained personal financial coaches. I believe that God has gifted each and every one of us with unique talents and blessed each of us with more than we need. We are all “rich” when it comes down to it. Based on that, I believe I have been called to teach others what Paul commanded Timothy to teach “those who are rich in this world…”

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life. – 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NLT)

I am fascinated with discussions on faith/religion, leadership, productivity, politics, and baseball… so you may see posts in the blog on all of these subjects.

A friend sent a quote many years ago when I was having a rough time. I have to come to realize how true it is and I attempt to keep it in perspective as I walk through this journey…

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them–work, family, health, friends, and spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends, and spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life…”
