I am Christopher Parks and I am blessed with an amazing wife, two awesome kids, and great parents. My wife Amy and I live in the magic city of Birmingham, AL. We just recently moved back to Birmingham after living in my hometown of Rocky Face, GA for about five years. Before that we lived in Birmingham for eight years. I grew up in Rocky Face and went to High School and College in the Dalton, GA area.
Mrs. Parks… Amy and I got married in January, 2003 in Birmingham. She is from Warsaw, IN way above the Mason/Dixon line. She attended Indiana State University. Her Mom, Dad, Sister, and Nephew live in Indianapolis now. She also has folks in Ohio, Michigan, and California. She continues to claim she does not have an accent… but you can tell she’s not from ’round here.
Church, Work, and Play… We attended Dalton First United Methodist Church when we lived in Georgia. DFUMC is an outstanding place to worhsip, learn, and fellowship. We truly miss these folks.
I am an Operations Manager for Jack Henry & Associates and Amy is an Application Analyst for the same company.
Baseball ( go CUBS) and NASCAR are our favorite entertainment activities. We go to Wrigley Field whenever we get the chance and we had standing seats for the fall race in Talladega for several years when we lived in Birmingham before the move.
The Kids!…Kirbi is 18 and McKenna is 13… yes I have two teenage daughters. My hair is turning more and more gray everyday. Just kidding. They are both blessings beyond anything I could ever hope for.
Kirbi is a freshman at Kennesaw State University. She is majoring in early childhood education. Kirbi is really great with little kids and is working hard to be a teacher.

McKenna is the girly-girl of the two. She loves ballet, dance, cheerleading and wants to paint her room pink. She also has an amazing singing voice.

The Other “Kids”…Then there is Pete and Pepper… Pete is my five year old Golden Retriever and Pepper is our Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix. They have the run of the house.
We got Pete as a puppy in Birmingham. He is about 75 lbs. and just a happy-go-lucky dog. He is all about the tennis ball. Always happy to see me. I’ve come to think that if people were more like Pete… the world would be a happier place.

I brought Pepper home at Christmas time in 2004. He was a stray hanging around our old townhouse in Birmingham. It was one of the coldest days I can remember. He had a collar on, but no tags. So I asked around the neighborhood and posted pictures up at a couple of the vet offices. No takers!! He has been one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever seen. Since he is a Border Collie / Aussie Mix, he likes to herd Pete around the house and yard.

Drop Us A Line Sometime.
Well, this is our life. We are truly “blessed beyond recognition.” I believe God will take care of us, show us the way, and bless us if we trust him in ALL circumstances. Do you know Christ? Here is an invitation.
I would like to leave you with what has become my favorite quote. A friend sent this to me when I was having a rough time and it has stuck with me:
“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them–work, family, health, friends, and spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends, and spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life…”
